State Road 23
This complex highway project resulted in 3.2 miles of resurfaced and improved highway. For the highway itself, we milled the old asphalt then completed base work and drainage improvements before resurfacing. This process used 21,548 feet of pipe and 55,374 tons of asphalt. In addition to this primary roadwork we built four bridges that tied into the First Coast Highway. This work included building mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls on the bridge abutments. We completed this project by installing traffic signals, lighting, highway signage, guardrails and other incidental construction.
